Oily skin has a bright appearance due to the overproduction of sebum by sebaceous glands . While sebum is beneficial for the skin as it acts as a moisturizer , excess sebum combines
with dead skin cells clog and enlarge pores , causing pimples and breakouts. Excessive oiliness makes the skin look thick, coarse , lacking flexibility and opaque color and tenderness.

  • Oily skin is the ideal medium for germs and dust environment , therefore , good hygiene is the first step in the care of oily skin . It is important to avoid touching your face with dirty hands .
  • Wash your face 2 times a day with warm water ( opens pores ) and a mild cleaning soap for oily skin (removes sebum without irritating the skin), then rinse with cold water ( closes pores to keep oil from obstruction).
  • If necessary , you can remove excess fat during the day with blotters or lozenges ( with salicylic acid or glycolic acid).

  •  Instead of using tap water or filtered water cooled boiled water to which ½ tablespoon lemon juice or baking soda (sodium bicarbonate ) is added.
  • A natural alternative to foams and gels for cosmetic cleaning is white mixed with the juice of half a lemon and 15 ml egg camphorated alcohol dropwise . Because the lemon can cause sensitivity to sunlight should be used only at night and in the morning your face thoroughly rinse and use sunscreen before sun exposure.

  • If after washing face still feels oily you can apply an astringent lotion containing salicylic acid or camphorated alcohol, which have antibiotic and antimicrobial properties .
  • Avoid lotions with alcohol are too harsh for the skin ( those containing ethanol, ethyl alcohol - benzyl alcohol , methyl and isopropyl alcohol) , and which excite the sebaceous glands produce extra oil making .
  • You can easily make your own lotions for oily skin in the form of various plants using thyme tea , bananas , lettuce , green tea , black tea , mint or lavender . Keep lotion in a bottle in the fridge and apply on face for 5-10 minutes, let it dry naturally without cleaning.
  • You can also use apple cider vinegar mixed with water. Leave on for 10-15 minutes and then rinse with cold water.
